Get with the Program

So I was looking at pictures today, trying to update my blog...and I realized every single picture I have was taken by one of you guys and sent to me. So, I've decided that I need to think about investing in a digital camera of my own. Now, thinking about it, I do have one, in the form of a video/digital camera....but that just won't do for nights out (being I'd have to set it up on it's tripod). So, I decided to look and see what they had out there for cameras....MY GOD! I'll have to take out a loan just to buy one...let alone any accessories that may be needed to transfer and print any pictures...but it's what needs to be done...maybe I can use Mickayla as collateral.

New Show New Addiction

So, now that American Idol is over, a new show needed to take it's place. So, this summer we have been "blessed" with a show called "So you think you can dance". Last night Bry and I indulged and it really wasn't too bad. You get some of the retards like on American Idol that think they are the shit, but in all reality suck. But there are people that are just awesome. For example there was this 18 year old girl who has been dancing for a long time and was probably a cheerleader...well she did just awesome. She has the body and the movement of a ballroom dancer. Then there was this guy who dressed in camo and had a mohawk and looked like if he were a good dancer it would be as a hip hop dancer...well this dude came out and said he had a background in tap, ballet, jazz, lyrical dancing, and something else...and he did this lyrical ballet routine that just floored me. Cause it was sooo not what you'd think he'd be able to do. Anyway, my point is that the show seems like it may be a fun indulgence and should keep me entertained during the boring evenings of summer.

The Worst Mom on Earth?

Catching Up...

Ok, so I've been waiting to post until I have some pictures....which makes me think that maybe I should have my own digital camera for situations such as this where I have to wait till someone else has time to send the pictures to me. Anyway, I had a pretty good weekend. I drove up to La Crosse to meet the Hubbards at Crystal's graduation. It was a nice ceremony and it was nice to be there watching her graduate. When I got home from that I was told to meet my cousin Tammi out at the bar, which I did. I got crazy drunk. Well, it wasn't soo much that I drank too much, but that fact that I was out until almost 5 am. On Saturday I slept. It was nice...and when I was up, I didn't do much. In the afternoon I tried to get Mickayla to nap...and I was the only one who ended up falling to sleep. This by the way, is typical. Well, even though she wouldn't nap, Mickayla was crazy happy all night at Crystals party. In fact she and Crystal did some singing and dancing together. Watching those two dance is quite the site. They both can move. Later that night. Grandma Sue had been having a great time and convinced Steve that I could give her a ride home. Well, we didn't leave until almost 2 am. It was fun though. I really like when I get to just sit and hang out and talk with Sue. Mickayla had actually passed out before it was time to go. She had fallen asleep after a story and slept for about an hour and a half before we left the festivities. She slept in on Sunday. Mother's day. What a fun day that was. I wasn't sure how I was gonna feel since we were going to Nate's brother in laws on a family day. Well, it turned out pretty awesome. We all get along really well with Sue's family anyway so that was nice. Also, Bob got his horses out. When it decided that it wasn't going to rain for a little while, we went riding in his corral. Well, that was Mickayla's 2nd time on a horse. Her first time without someone leading the horse. She rode...all by herself. And man she did really well. She steered him, made him go, made him stop. She was totally relaxed too. She wasn't scared even a little bit. It was pretty great. Anyway...I'll have pictures of the weekend soon. Until then I hope all is well with all of you.

Too Cute

Ok, so I know I should have a picture of it up with this post...but that will have to wait until tomorrow or something. Mickayla brought home her costume for dance last night. It is adorable. Their songs are You are My Sunshine for ballet and Rubber Ducky for tap. So, the costume is a yellow leatard that has one shoulder strap and then one clear strap, and then there are like crushed rhinestone like sequins on the chest area. For ballet they have a big yellow tutu...then for tap they keep on the yellow leatard and change into a skirt that is all like thick yellow string...kinda like a flapper fringe...then we pin yellow feathers to the shoulder and they pull on a little "sleeve" that goes from wrist to elbow that is yellow with that crushed rhinestone look on it....it is SOOOOOO CUTE!!!...I'll take a picture either tonight or tomorrow of her in it and post it for you all to see. And, just in case any of you may be in town...or would like to be in town....Her big performance will be June 9th...at 7:00 pm I believe....I'll double check the date and time and let you all know for sure...but I'm pretty sure that's what the note said. I know that Mickayla would love for any or all of you to come...and I would too. But if not...I'll have it on DVD.

American Voters Have Lost Their Minds

Well, American Idol voters have anyway. I can't believe it. How in the world can America vote off someone as awesome as Chris Daughtry (sp) and keep someone as lame as Taylor Hicks. I was reading and thinking about it this morning...and Hicks hasn't even been in the bottom two yet. How ridiculous is that they would vote someone off that seems to be able to sing just about anything thrown at him without making it sound like a cheap immitation of the original, but can keep someone who may not sound like an immitation of the original everytime...but sounds the same everytime he sings. I don't get it. I feel that now that Chris is off the show, even though I like Cat, whoever wins this competition will just end up being a waste of money. They will be famous for all of three days and that will be it. Well, maybe next year they'll get smart and go with the hot rocker guy.

Stress

It's a funny thing stress. You can feel stressed out in even the most minor of problems....for example today. I'm feeling really really stressed out, and nothing has really happened. The worst thing of the day is that Mickayla got permanent marker on her new "sweat" pants...and the only reason that is a big deal is because this is only the second time she's worn them and they were more pricey than other pants like them because they are from her dance studio. But on top of that she broke a glass jar and spilled my enitre bottle of water and a over half a can of soda. So now, I feel stressed...like I have to watch her every move and try to prevent things before they happen. Now, I know my kid is like me and really really clumsy...but come on....all four things happened within one hour. Oh well...she goes to her grandma's tonight and maybe I'll get to relax a bit now. By Sun. I'll have missed her enough that her clumsiness will be forgotten.

CARE BEARS!!!!!!!!!!!

Last night was great! Not only did I get to see Care Bears Live and do something cool with Mickayla that I never did growing, but I got to do it with her and two of my favorite people ever. Beaner and Tito. It was a blast. We met up with Crystal at Pizza Hut and had some din din...then off to the La Crosse Center. We had awesome seats....although I found out that front row would have been even better (kids there were able to hug the care bears). But regardless we had an awesome spot. We all were digging it. Mickayla came home with some cool stuff like a t shirt and a care bear and a program that tells the story that they did on stage which is cool...so it's more like a book than a program...and Sabrina bought her a balloon while we were getting something to drink...On the way home was fun...Sabrina and I got to have a nice talk...which we always do when we are in the car together...and Mickayla ate some cold pizza...and I'm pretty sure she and I were both sick (and possibly Sabrina and Crystal too) from too much pizza and cotton candy....that shit's addicting. Anyway...a great time was had by all, and of course my personal photographer got some great pictures.

Wow! That's Sad

So, tonight I'm going to be taking Sabrina and Mickayla to see Care Bears Live up in La Crosse tonight....HOW FUN!!! It's so funny...it's a little kids show and I'm really excited to go see it...and spend a fun night with two of my favorite girls ever. First of all it's been a while since Sabrina and I have done anything just the two (well three) of us. Since our trip a month ago. And also it's not that often that I get to take Mickayla and do something that is just sooo cool like this. In fact this is the first time her and I have gone to something like this. Now, I do think it is awesome to be able to spend time like this with my kid and my best friend...I just think...wow...this is sad...this is the most exciting thing I've done in a month. While yeah I get to go out once in awhile (and could every other weekend) I don't...unless people are in town. Not that that bothers me...but I don't even go to movies...for example...the last movie I saw in a theater was Piglet's Big Movie...sad...very sad...I need to just go...even if it's just me....which would be more sad...but anyway....I'm sooo excited for tonight...it's gonna be fun...and I forgot to mention that Tito is gonna come too...so it's just gonna be me and my girls...

Is it Because it's Monday or is this a sign that my May is gonna suck

Oh man oh man oh man...I have had the worst/weirdest day already and it's not even noon yet. I'm beginning to wonder if maybe the planets have aligned in some weird way that it is interfering with me having a normal day. First off, I overslept...and that gave Tammi's kids only about 25 minutes to get ready and get out the door this morning...oops (although that's how it is when there mom gets them around lately too, so no biggie)...about a half hour to an hour after they leave, I get a call from the high school (which was weird) but it turned out that it was Rhonda Peterson wanting me to come get Tori, because she had an ear ache...ok..now this girl has ear aches all the time...maybe she should have something done to help prevent them...but that's not my place to say/do anything about it. Then I notice that Darrin's cat (well Mickayla noticed) had a seeping open wound on it's but on the outside by it's tail...so I locked him up at mom's so I could take him to the vet. Turns out he got bit by another cat or something..ouch...so I get into work and what the HELL??????? The power is out...therefore we can't open...in fact the power was out all across downtown from Subway to Kwik Trip...ok whatever...so I took the cat to the vet...well, I had to stop for a house...yes, they were moving a house out on the road to Dr. Burch's. How odd....I wouldn't think bringing a house from the direction of wild cat mnt. would be the best route but..who know...which made me think ...did they just turn onto this road after wild cat or did they travel over it....hmm...but where can you turn between Dr. Burch's and wild cat?? I'd have to drive all the way down there to see...anyway, I'm getting sidetracked. So, I get the cat fixed up a shot of antibiotic and some pills to give him for the week and a bit of salve...I get home and I've been parking by my back door cause I've been moving...well it rained so I couldn't unpack my stuff...but anyway...I parked the car there again when I stopped to drop the cat off...well, I pulled up a little further than normal...and Fluffy must have dug a hole...well my car was stuck....Well, I was about to call Rob to come help me when I got a call telling me the power was back on...so I thought...ok..I'll give it one more try myself...and out I popped...so that was good. Well I had $20 with me when I started this whole adventure (cause I was gonna get cigs at KT, then noticed they too were closed) and I stopped at the office and went to Subway to get breakfast...well my $20 was no where to be found. AHHHHHHH! So to make a long story sho......oh wait..it's too late for that..the point to all this is that I should just go home lock myself in my room and go to sleep until tomorrow. It's just too bad I can't do that.
