Back to the Grindstone

We returned home yesterday morning at 8:30 am. Well, that's when we got into Hillsboro. I actually did not get home until about 10, after stopping and seeing my parents at work. I got about 4 hours sleep, then got dressed and went to pick up Mickayla. Even though I know she was super happy to have me home, she seemed more interested in seeing her suprise from the trip. Well, lets face it. It's me, and I go nuts, especially when it comes to buying stuff for my kid. She got tons of stuff. But her favorite and mine was the large stuffed manta ray. I told her it was a bat ray...but it could be a sting ray...who knows, and it doesn't really matter.

One thing I was happy to be home for, was her losing of another tooth. We popped it out last night. I'm glad I didn't miss that. I love that stuff. It's what being a parent is all about. Those little things.

So, now I'm back to work...and actually have stuff to do. Not that I don't ever have stuff to do, but I was worried that I'd come back and everything would be done and then my first day back would drag on and on and on and on....it still might, but so far so good.

Back to the real world. I'm happy to be home, but man oh man do I love it out in CA. It won't be too long before I'm planning another vacation to go out there...but when that happens, I'll be taking Mickayla with me so she can do all the fun stuff like going to the Zoo and the aquarium and maybe even the boardwalk (she did mention wanting to go to the beach). Until then I'll just sit here and wish for it to stop raining and warm up.
